Biosorption of Palladium Using Enterobacter oligotrophicus CCA6^T

Abstract

Palladium, a platinum-group metal, is used in various industrial sectors, and its demand has increased in recent years. Here, we describe the palladium biosorption capacity of Enterobacter oligotrophicus CCA6^T. After E. oligotrophicus CCA6^T was cultured, the washed cells were used in a biosorption test, and their capacity was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy （TEM） analysis. Based on the TEM images, the cells of E. oligotrophicus CCA6^T were not decomposed by adding palladium, and E. oligotrophicus CCA6^T had palladium biosorption capacity.
