Abstract
This study was investigated the potential of strontium salts in the fabrication of phosphor materials. Gel precursors were prepared using urea as the starting material. The blue-green emission increased and the red emission decreased with increasing calcination temperature (1100-1400 ℃). The blue-green emission was attributed to Eu2+ ions. With increasing content of Eu2+ ions, the intensity at the emission maximum at 490 nm (blue-green) increased, and the emission color tended to be closer to white owing to the simultaneous red emission. This suggested that white light emission could be controlled by varying the Eu/Sr molar ratio or calcination temperature.
