Report I. On the relation between root surface area and occlusion power of teeth

Abstract

Studies were made on the relation between root surface area and occlusion power of teeth. And it was found that each ratio of occlusion power of the first premolar, the first and the second molar to that of medial incisor was closely approximate to each ratio of root surface area of the first premolar, the first and the second molar to that of medial incisor. From the above mentioned facts it is conceivable that the occlusion power of tooth is closely related with its root surface area.
