A case of aneurysmal bone cyst involving the left maxillary sinus associated with central giant cell granuloma, in a 16-year-old high school girl, is reported, with a review of the literature. The aneurysmal bone cyst is neither an aneurysm nor a true cyst, but rather a benign, non-neoplastic, osseous lesion characterized by the presence of numerous blood-filled, usually nonendothelialized cavities. The lesion is regarded as rare in the jaws, and the mandible is more susceptible than the maxilla. The giant cell granuloma is a non-neoplastic proliferative lesion that can involve either oral soft tissues, alveolar bone, or both tissues. It resembles bone lesions, such as aneurysmal bone cyst, fibrous dysplasia, and cherubism. This report also provides a suggested pathogenesis and the most differentiating points from the resembling lesions.
