In this paper, we proposed the constitutive equation with multi-axial stress components for H-shaped cross-section steel, which is simplified considering the applicability of the practical design. The axial material test of H-shaped crosssection steel with monotonic and cyclic loadings are conducted to determine its material parameters. The numerical analyses of the material tests and the truss panel test with H-shape cross-section bracing members using the constitutive equation could reproduce their experimental results.
