Abstract

This study proposed a method of generating artificial arbitrary corrosion crack patterns using the metal pipe filled with non-explosive demolish agent embedded in concrete specimen. The features is that the method is applicable to expansion force to arbitrary direction and at arbitrary area from cut area by partially cutting away the area of metal pipe. As a result, it was confirmed that a large expansion force could be applied and cracks with large widths could be developed. It was also confirmed that expansion from partial area can distribute the expansion force and control crack pattern. This enables the generation of artificial corrosion cracks of various shapes and damage levels as same as real corrosion crack pattern.
