Abstract

This research is aimed to evaluate the shear capacity of T-shaped RC beams fixed at both ends. As the result of the nonlinear finite element analysis, the share capacity of T-beams is mainly affected by the width and the thickness of the flange, the shear reinforcement of the web. The evaluation equation of the shear capacity of T-beams is proposed based on the result of the analysis. The proposed equation is able to evaluate the shear capacity of the result of the analysis and the previous experiment with the same accuracy as the rectangle beams. It is confirmed that the failure mode of cross beams of the RC viaduct is predicted accurately with the proposed equation same as the nonlinear finite element analysis.
