The rockfall protective soil embankment is considered a cost-effective and easily implementable solution because it can be constructed using locally generated soil, but a standardized performance design method has not yet been established. In this paper, weight-impact tests were conducted on a rockfall protection embankment. The results indicated that damage to embankments with a history of loading accumulates over time. Additionally, it was demonstrated that soil handness tests and simple penetration tests can be used to detect the deformed areas of the soil embankment after loading.
