Abstract
(1) As the chromatography with an alumina column was found to completely separate the interfering substances, the use of the chromatographic treatment was proposed to improve the determination of tocopherol by the EMMERIE-ENGEL method.
(2) The amount of tocopherol in the various tissues of fish was determined by the improved method, and the highest content was found in the heart tissue of the fishes examined.
(3) During the storage of fronzen fish the loss of tocopherol increased proportionally with the increase of formation of lipid peroxides in the tissues.
