Concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) were determined in four species of zooplankton collected from six locations in the North Pacific Ocean in April-May, 1974. The results showed that PCB concentrations in Euphausia pacifica, Calanus plumchrus, C. cristatus, and Aglantha digitale were 0.07-0.08, 0.19, 0.10-0.11, and 0.02ppm, respectively. Levels of PCB in Euphausia and Copepoda were higher than those in salmon and trout feeding upon these zooplanktons in the same locations.
