Abstract
The boundary between the open and closed capillary zones was fixed by next examinations.
It was simply measured by next methods as follows (i) the heating method (ii) the pressing method (iii) the meteorological observations method, because the wide difference of these two capillary zones is found about the air existence.
In consequence of this test the boundary was found about (0.4-0.5)×Hx/Hmax (Hx: the height from the under ground water level, Hmax: the maximum capillary height.)
This result will be applied to determine the condifons of evaporation from sand susfase.
