Abstract
In this review, we described the technique of endoscopic biliary stenting (EBS). When we perform EBS, we should understand the type of stent and its characteristics. In particular, we should conduct EBS based on the consideration of stent characteristics, e.g. covered/uncovered, braded/laser cutting, presence of stent removability, and so on. Traditionally, conventional partial stent-in-stent placement using dedicated stents has been popular in the metal stenting for the treatment of hilar biliary stricture. However, recently several endoscopists perform side-by-side metal stent placement using smaller diameter delivery system metal stents.
