Abstract
Behavior of excited [Ru (bpy) 3] 2+ with electron acceptor quencher C60F36 has been investigated by measurements of luminescence quenching. Cationic [Ru (bpy) 3] 2+ is adsorbed on the anionic surface of Nafion aggregates in ethanol, and its luminescence was found not to be easily quenched by C60F36. C60F36 molecules are anticipated to exist in Nafion aggregates, which is easily explained by the affinity of C60F36 for the fluorocarbon component of Nafion. This affinity is also supported by a dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurement.
