The author of this paper has conducted a through examination of the chemical and physical properties of nearly 35 different stainless steels collected from numerous steel manufacturers and laboratories.
The various samples have been subjected to identical tests, with the object of determining the most convenient applications of stainless steel, and to obtain full data with respect to the different qualities.
