The author describe the results obtained from the megnetic prospecting which carried out at the Kamaishi Magnetite Mine in Japan.
For this survey, the Thalen-Tiberg magnetometer was used, which is inten led to locate any magnetic deposit8 by the examination of the horizontal and vertical intens: ty of the disturbed magnetic field on the ground surfase of the proposed regions.
In this prospecting work, the writer found a new deposit, which has no surfase indications and was overlooked when geological survey was carried out and determind the direcbion of as superior extension of the Shinyama deposit, which is the lagest deposit in this mine.
