It is a well knoum fact that solid carburizer gradually exhausts its carburizing Value after repeated uses.
There-for it is a Common Practice that a certain Percentage of new material is added each time.
The present writer, taking some carburizing, Materials-wood charcool, coke, chared leather, bone, artificial graphite etc; tested and made researchs on seveal properties; adosorption, reactivity for CO2, change of specific gravity, valume and composition of gas liberated when heated.
Finaly obtained the following results:-
The deterioration of carburizing value of carburizer mainly depends on the deterioration of reactivity for carbon dioxide due to oxidation of surface of solid carbon which composed carburizer.
