Abstract
The aim of this paper is to clarify the change of recreational activities in a mountain religious village from 1985 to 1995.
The outline of this paper is as follows.
1. The research area is Chusha settlement in Togakushi Village in Nagano Prefecture, and Togakushi Village has the ski resort area.
2. Recreational activities in Togakushi has been influenced by economic boom cycle and recession in Japan during the researched term.
3. Natural disasters happened in 1995 gave significant influences on the recreational activities in Togakushi.
4. People suspect that the decision of 1998's Winter Olympic Games to beheld in Nagano and the construction of high speed transportation systems would give little influences to recreational activities in Togakushi.
