Abstract
The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in elementary and secondary school education has come to be paid attention to in recent years. In this paper, we attempt to discuss this use from two viewpoints. The first is from recent trends in the United States, where we can find many examples of GIS use in K-12 education. The other is from the possibilities of GIS within the Japanese educational system.
