 Rectifiers have been widely utilized for dc loads in various systems, such as industrial production systems, and home-electronic appliances. Most of the dc loads have an individual rectifier when the commercial-frequency power line is used. For such dc loads, a dc micro grid may be introduced instead of the individual rectifiers from the viewpoint of energy savings. The ac-side current-harmonics evoked by a rectifier may cause serious problems, such as overheating of the power apparatuses in the power transmission system, and they should be decreased by power-factor-correction (PFC) technique. Single-phase three-wire power lines are used for distribution power systems to serve two different voltages; 100V and 200V are available, for example. This paper proposes a single-phase three-wire PFC rectifier which has a dual-voltage output. This can be applicable for dc microgrids. Current-interleaving technique is included in the rectifier to reduce the harmonic currents. Voltage-sensorless control is also considered. Steady-state and transient performances of the rectifier are discussed by experiment to confirm the practicability of the rectifier.
