Abstract
We developed an insulin delivery system questionnaire in Japanese (IDSQ-J) to measure the impact of insulin delivery systems including insulin and its devices, on patient quality of life. The IDSQ-J consists of 4 groups of 18 questions answered by patients. Factor analysis with 16 items excluding 2 questions with low commonality, yielded 4 subscales-satisfaction, ease of use, lifestyle impact, and blood glucose control. Subscale scores proved highly reliable. Validity was confirmed by checking the correlation between IDSQ-J subscale scores and the Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (DTSQ) or Insulin Therapy Attitude Questionnaire. In conclusion, we found that the IDSQ-J is a reliable and valid rating scale for evaluating insulin delivery systems from the patient's standpoint.
