Development and Application of a New Cryo-Unit for Continuous Observation of Cryo-SEM and Freeze-Replica Images(Papers presented at the 34th Annual Meeting, April 1988, Tokyo)

Abstract

We developed a new CRYO-UNIT which was directly connected to the scanning electron microscope equipped with a cold stage. This unit allowed to continuously observe the same frozen samples by both Cryo-SEM and freeze-replica which were prepared under exact temperature control with prevention of contamination. A few examples for the application of this unit to frozen biological samples were presented.
