Abstract
I have been sent to isolated islands belong to Tokyo for stomach cancer screening annual health check-up by endoscopy for about 10 years. Generally stomach cancer screening check-ups are by upper GI exams but due to their unique situation because of the location, transportation, etc. it is mostly held by endoscopy. The work is demanding in terms of both simply the large number of patients per day during the work trip and the required quality of the examination and the performance speed. It is honestly a hard work but at the same time very much satisfying as the idea of contributing to preventive medicine for people in islands. Tokyo Metropolitan Hiroo Hospital receives most of the numbers of both emergency and non-emergency patients from those areas on daily bases. It is more ideal if we could join any part of preventive medicine as well.
