Abstract

To understand the current status of neurotoxicity in Japan, we reviewed rat studies available on FAMIC as of January, 2020. Number of studies reviewed was 60 for acute toxicity, 37 for acute neurotoxicity, 59 for 90-day repeated toxicity, 42 for 90-day repeated neurotoxicity, 58 for reproductive toxicity, 59 for developmental toxicity, and 11 for developmental neurotoxicity. In many of studies, the effects on CNS were detected in addition to general toxicity, reproductive, and/or developmental effects. From these, we will discuss the current status of neurotoxicity.
