In non-clinical toxicity studies, laboratory tests are performed to clarify the effects of test articles on animals. A series of data that indicates the condition of the living body can be obtained by the tests. The obtained data is then used to interpret which parameters are associated with which organ changes and determine the toxicological significances. Experienced toxicologists may take this course of toxicological evaluation for granted. However, it is often difficult for less-experienced personnel to appropriately interpret changes in laboratory tests, as there is no comprehensive correspondence table between changed parameters and their corresponding organs available in place.
Therefore, we have created a list of laboratory tests parameters and their associated organs based on the measurement items and organs that listed in the Guidelines for Repeated Dose Toxicity Studies, incorporating additional information as necessary. Furthermore, the controlled terminology used in the Standard for the Exchange of Nonclinical Data (SEND) was also added to the table, considering the utilization of non-clinical data; which will enable the data scientist easily to refer to the parameters for each organ when visualizing the data and to facilitate communication with toxicologists.
