Abstract

Recently, as part of the move towards Society 5.0, in which all elements of society will be digitalized, companies are emerging that have grown by radically transforming their business models through digital transformation (DX) to provide new value. Conversely, in the global market, there are cases of existing businesses collapsing because they were slow to change their business models. The Digital Governance Code 2.0 developed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry defines DX as responding to drastic changes in the business environment and using data and digital technology to innovate products, services, and business models based on customer and societal needs while also establishing a competitive advantage by reforming a business itself, its organization structure and processes, and the corporate culture and climate. The CRO industry will also need to transform through the promotion of DX, and many CROs are already implementing digitization. Digitalization is currently progressing on the path to full transformation. In this presentation, we will introduce an example of DX promoted at Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories, Ltd. and introduce the new value we aim to provide.
