This study evaluated whether physical exercise training (PET) at a frequency of once a week for six weeks would improve mood states in advanced engineering course students. Nineteen male subjects performed six weeks PET in physical education-related class. The training program was composed of three processes: 1) 6 strength machines training; 2) 3 varieties empty weight training; 3) 10 min× 2 sets step exercise. Before and after 6 weeks PET, we tested mood states in subjects using the Profile of Mood States (POMS)-Brief Form. After 6 weeks PET, the score of fatigue and confusion showed significant decrease (P< 0.05). From these results, it was suggested that six weeks PET would serve an improvement of the mood states in advanced engineering course students.
