Abstract
A basic performance review of hybrid bearings lubricated with pure refrigerant liquids is presented. The lubrication properties of pure refrigerant liquid (PRL) are also discussed together with the main bearing design challenges. The paper exposes the use of hybrid bearings lubricated with pure refrigerants as a feasible alternative in the refrigeration industry.
