Abstract
In our previous study, it has been found that installing an axi-asymmetrical baffle plate upstream of cavitating inducer is
very effective for the suppression of cavitation surge in two-bladed flat plate helical inducer. In the present study, to obtain
the design guideline of this suppression device, it was applied for the suppressions of cavitation surge and rotating cavitation
in a three-bladed inducer. It was confirmed that the cavitaion surge could be well suppressed by this device, especially
when installed at about 55% tip diameter upstream of inducer leading edge; this location is similar to that for the effective
suppression in two-bladed inducer. Rotating cavitation could be also weakened by this device, but the effect was very limited.
