Urgent Farming Management Reform and Changes of the Local Organizations in Rural Community

The Case Study in Naganuma Town, Hokkaido District Yubari

Abstract

Recent circumstances around agriculture and rural community become much in difficulties. This paper analyzes the case of reforming farming management aiming at a shift from rice production monoculture farming type, in order to maintain the sustainable agriculture.
In modern rural community, residents are trying to maintain the solidarity of farming village through recomposing their social relations with referring to their future life. The rural community plays an important role in residents’ life as the residentiary group, as well in Hokkaido.
