This research investigates the effect of vocational qualification on transition to reemployment among women in Japan. I use the Social Stratification and Mobility (SSM) survey in 2005 and apply discrete hazard models to estimate the effects of vocational qualification. The result shows that a woman who has a vocational qualification is likely to return to labor market. This finding is confirmed under control of other variables of human capital. This means that vocational qualifications link woman with a specific occupation, and inform employers of her ability to work in the case of considering transition to reemployment among women.
