High-Density Recording for Magneto-optical Disks Using An Auto-equalizing Technique

Abstract

HIgh-density recording for magneto-optical disks is studied using a waveform equalization technique. The results of a simulation and an experiment show that an auto-equalizer can improve the raw bit error rate from 〜10^<-3> to 〜10^<-5>, with a recording density of 0.6μm/bit.
