Transmission Error Effects of CODEC for MUSE Digital Transmission

Abstract

This paper describes transmission error effects of the CODEC for MUSE digital transmission. Error effects depend on a method of adaptive prediction. Picture degradation by error is assessed using the newly developed CODEC. We have verified required transmission line quality and error correction ability. The winter Olympics '92 was broadcast using this CODEC.
