The Color Gamut of Hi-Vision Digital Standard Test Pictures

Abstract

The color reproduction characteristics are examined for digital data of Hi-Vision standard test pictures by ploting every pixel color of the data. The original test pictures are in the form of slide films, which can contain highly saturated colors. It is shown that the process of producing digital data using a drum scanner does not restrict the color gamut of the original pictures.
