An Improvement of Motion Vector Estimation Using Enlarged Block Size

Abstract

The conventional motion estimation method using block matching has a disadvantage not to represent an actual motion when the block size is not large enough to cover some textures in the image. This paper proposes the new motion estimation using an enlarged block size in the block matching method. The simulation result shows a considerable improvement to represent the real motion compared with the conventional one.
