Hi-vision videodisc system with 3-beam optical readout

Abstract

We have developed a videodisc system which reproduces Hi-Vision signal without bandwidth compression, and 4-channel high quality digital audio. Using 3-beam recording and reproducing technics, the maximum playback time of 60 minutes was obtained with both sides of the disc.
