ABS method algorism of a constant coded data, is developed based on adaptive block size coding. An experimental hardware has been implemented that is capable of real time processing and recording of High Difinition pictures (i.e 1344 x 960 pixel) to D-2VTR. The S/N ratio of the decoded picture shows more than 40dB at the compression ratio of 1/10.5.
