High performance polarization transforming optical system for LC-projector.

Abstract

We have proposed a new high performance polarization transforming optical system for liquid crystal(LC)-projector. The light from light source is transformed to the 45°rotated linearly polarized light by the 1/2 wave plates. This optical system is possible to realize a high effciency of light use and uniformity of chromaticity.
