A spatial light modulator using a heat resistant polymer-dispersed liquid crystal film and an a-SiGeC : H light absorber has been developed for an optically addressed projection system. Excellent performance of a high efficiency over 1.5 lm/W and 1500 lumens output has been achieved by incorporating the SLM into a Schlieren optical projection system.
