This paper describes a signal processing method for picture coding using both intrafield sub-sampling and MPEG2 VIDEO (ISO/IEC13818-2) coding. By this method, it becomes clear that the Block distortion and Mosquito noise are reduced. The result shows an improvement over the quality of the pictures, compared with the conventional ones.
