A New Quantitative Indicator for Visual Fatigue in 3DTV Observers (Part 1)

Abstract

This paper describes a new approach for measuring visual fatigue in 3DTV observers. A new visual fatigue indicator, VFI, was defined as the binocular fusion-time response for random-dot stereogram (RDS) patterns after watching 3DTV displays. Subjects were required to perform 3DTV image evaluation tasks, and the VFI correlated well with the subjective reports of visual fatigue.
