A Study of PRML System using using Neural Network Equalization

Abstract

An application of neural network equalization to the partial response maximum-likelihood(PRML) channel with partial erasure in high density digital magnetic recoding is studied. The bit-error rate performance is evaluated by computer simulation. It is shown that our system shows better performance than the conventional PRML system with Nyquist equalization.
