Abstract

In recent years, VTRs have come to be introduced into our studios. With the replacement of D2-VTRs with cassette-types, operation has become much simpler. On the other hand, the danger of inadvertently erasing previously-recorded material has also increased. In order to avoid this, we have developed and employed a new CTS-Pre-Read HEAD which is set in front of the D2-VTR's erase head. Naturally we have been careful to ensure complete compatibility with standard D2-VTRs. With this new development, there is now no chance whatsoever of erasing a previously - recorded portion of the tape. Next we introduce multi-function remote controller for studio use which transmits to D2-VTS by RS422A. In addition to normal operations, it has the added function of being able to remember the starting points (3places) or ending points when recording, and then search them out later. Through the introduction of these systems, we have been able to eliminate erroneous erasing of video tape, and have seen a dramatic improvement in the working efficiency in our studios.
