Several reports as follows in SID'93 are summarized. Session 9 "LCD Drive Schemes and Modeling" refers to LCD driving methods containing Active Addressing which has recently attracted much interests, and the another. Session 24 "Passive LCD Devices" contains reports on Ferroelectric LCDs and OMI-LCDs' Session 39 "Dispersions in LC Materials" refers to the applications of PDLCs for light valves and an LC alignment in a TN cell using a polymer network. Session 44 "LCD Alignment and Cell Structure" refers to non-rubbing LC alignment methods and LCDs with plastic substrates. Poster session "LC Technology" contains reports on a rubbing-less alignment method, film compensated LCDs, modelings/simulations, ferroelectric LCDS and active-matrics LCDs.
