Uekusa Gakuen University introduced the new curriculum subject “The utilization of ICT by children with disabilities” in 2015 ahead of the rest of the universities across Japan with an aim to train teaching staff who can demonstrate the leadership in the utilization of ICT. We have brought in new tablet PCs following the introduction of this new subject and we are promoting the utilization of ICT in the teacher training course for students to become teachers at Special Support Schools and elementary schools. In this paper, we will report on the following topics: 1) The preparation for the new curriculum subject in terms of both physical and non-physical aspects such as the introduction of tablet PCs and the arrangement and management of the environment. 2) The content of the actual classes utilizing ICT in schools such as Special Support Schools. 3) The students’ learning outcomes so far. The indication was that extensive learning through this course would make it possible to train teaching staff who can utilize ICT in an actual school situation.
