Abstract
In this paper, management of common spaces so called “courtyards ”in an old residential area of Patan city is clarified through the analysis of management actors and their relationships. A block of three interconnected Buddhist monastery courtyards is selected for the survey. From this study, following results are figured out.I) For the management of courtyards, there exist three types of management actors namely; Buddhist monastery related, Resident related and Government related. 2) Management actors perform numerous everyday and occasional ( on emergency time or festival time) management activities. 3) The relationships between management actors are clarified through the analysis of their activities such as Decision-making, Implementation and Expense Bearing.
