A basic study on a proposed lighting system of the outside corridor for light pollution prevention of collective housing

Abstract

The usage of ceiling lights in external corridors and passageways of large apartment complexes has been suggested as a contributor to light pollution in the surrounding area. To identify this relationship, this study firstmeasures the total glare values of a number of apartment complexes. Using these observations, this paper proposes an alternate illumination system and examines its effecton decreasing surrounding light pollution.
