Abstract
Acoustic Optical (AO) Tunable Filter using Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) is described. This device has the function to select the light of wavelength corresponding to the frequency of the input electric signal. It becomes a wavelength monitor by doing an electric frequency in the sweep. Basic operation and the evaluation of the monitor using AO tunable filter were done. Application to the optical fiber sensing system using FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) was examined. It was shown to be able to detect the change in the light wavelength that corresponded to the strain of the fiber sensor.
