Abstract
1) Penicillium sclerotiorum NRRL 2074 was cultured on several media. pH of medium, in all cases, showed the minimum value in 6 to 9 days after inoculation and thereafter increased gradually. 2) Its carotene production seemed to be markedly affected by pH value of medium during the period after it attained to the minimum value. The optimum pH for its carotenogensis was 2.00±0.25. 3) Lipoxidase activity was not detected in the mycelium obtained in medium No.1.
