Abstract
The phosphorylation of thiamine in liver cells was observed and it was made clear that it takes place in mitochondrial, microsomal and soluble fractions of liver cells. The efficiency of thiamine phosphorylation is far higher in CCl_4-damaged liver than in the normal liver. To explain this fact, we are inclined to think on the possibility that the liver plosphatase activity be influenced by the action of thiamine and that this influence of thiamine on liver phosphatase be different in the normal liver and the CCl_4-damaged liver.
