STUDIES ON THE EFFECT OF THE SOUND STIMULATION UPON THE THIAMINE METABOLISM : (III) EFFECT OF EXCITEMENT BY SOUND ON THIAMINE METABOLISM, IN ANIMALS LACKING AUDITORY AREA IN CEREBRAL CORTEX

Abstract

With the removal of the auditory area in the cerebral cortex, the thiamine content in the organs of rats showed a slight decrease. Even if excited by sound, however, it did not show further decrease. Noticeable difference of thiamine content was not seen, between the normal and auditory area lacking animals, three hours after the loading of thiamine with sound stimulation.
